Café Komodo has been part of the Prospect community for 20 years in 2024. Wander down the lane from 118 Prospect Rd to find a vintage space with an eclectic mix of furniture, plates, teaspoons and people, it is an inclusive space reminiscent of times gone by.

The menu focuses on fresh, seasonal and local ingredients, with many vegan and gluten free options. Komodo is licensed to enjoy a cocktail (or a beer!) and embraces the live music scene, with a vast variety of genres represented on the stage. The comfortable outdoor space is pooch friendly and a welcome sanctuary from the hustle of Prospect Rd.

Amber and Mel “accidently” bought Café Komodo in June 2o24 after reading of it’s pending closure in The Advertiser. After years of visiting as customers, it felt like the perfect place to save. With over 40 years of hospitality and retail experience, they bring a passion and energy to Komodo that promises to carry on the legacy of this beautiful community space.

Amber and Mel have 3 kids, Kayla (29 - who sometimes works in the Café), Lachlan (12) and William (7), a Daisy Dog (Labrador), Ava (the 15yr old Princess Ragdoll Kitty), a bunch of chookies, fish and a veggie patch.
